Beggars Bliss

Beggars Bliss

Self Released

Out now!!!

Obscene amounts of groove, smokin’ keys, the filthiest songs to sing you into bed and the happiest blues… Preach to us Beggars Bliss. Because we are all yours for the entirety of your debut album. Launching opening track ‘I Am I’ is a haunting vocal intro which is soon shoved to one side, as an unholy-sized hook sinks its fangs in and draws out a gospel groove, slick keys and a spiritual awakening. The keys and lyrics are light, but the levels of desire, temptation and catchiness of tunes in ‘Forbidden Fruit’ and ‘Peaches N’ Cream’ are hot and high. Seduction levels are off the scale as ‘I’m on Fire’ becomes the audio equivalent of a peacock fluffing up his pretty peacock feathers at a Friday night peacock party. Or something like that. If any band’s gonna have a railroad-hittin’, riding-off-into-the-horizon number, it’s this band (‘Train Song’). Tender ‘Dusk Til Dawn’ tells a tale through mellow contemporary blues. There’s hints of jazz in ‘Sunshine’, Pearl Jam vibes from ‘Rabbit Hole’, while ‘Spiralling’ is heavy sleazy rock heaven. Seriously. Nothing can prepare you for this track. ‘Beggars Bliss’ is an absolute gem of a record.
