Beth Blade and the Beautiful Disasters
Vintage Rebel X Trauma Bond
Self Released
Out September 12!!!!
Sharp as a knife, Beth Blade’s cut-glass, whisky-soaked vocals get you in the gut. Hard. They give you goosebumps. They give you life- with all its glamour and gore, over solid classic rock. Side One, ‘Vintage Rebel’ is music to feel to and f**k to. We’re all human. We love, we hate, we laugh, we struggle – and Beth sings it all. With superstar power and down to earth heart. ‘Vintage Rebel X Trauma Bond’ is Beth Blade and the Beautiful Disasters at their very, very best. Opener ‘Never Let Go’ is a proper rock and roll love song. And we don’t mean old Enrique Iglesias being your hero, baby. We mean being utterly imperfect but completely perfect for each other. Compare and contrast with delish dark dirt fest ‘You Only Love Me When You’re Drunk’. ‘Down the Front’ is pure put-you-in-the-pit pleasure. Turn over to Side Two ‘Trauma Bond’ and the tracks turn darker. They cut as deep as those on ‘Vintage Rebel’, but in a different way. Colossal riffs crunch and sticks splinter to give ‘Colour of Our Bones’ a crushing entrance. This isn’t simply an inclusivity anthem – it’s the truth. Picture battle stance guitars screaming on ‘Damage’, hear lyrics caused by true trauma which will tear you to the core. This song is so honest and raw. The outside world’s a wicked, toxic place at the minute – and the one we’ve got inside our own heads sometimes isn’t much better. ‘Trauma Bond’s’ tracks take these truths and serve them - song after song, unflinchingly. ‘Vintage Rebel X Trauma Bond’ is both sides of Beth, the Beautiful Disasters, and all of us. Musically it’s outstanding. But Beth Blade and the Beautiful Disasters are a band who go way beyond the songs. As people they have ridden the storm. As a band they are its epicentre.
