For the Forsaken
Hole in my Soul
Self Released
Out 19 September!!!!
Dan Hunsdon doesn’t sing the sweetest. Because being dragged into the depths of addiction but finding the balls to haul himself out and then do better day on day will do that to a voice. Dan’s gritty yet at times fragile growl sounds like it’s scraping the demons from his soul. It’s born from loathing and being lost, from fighting, feeling and ultimately being saved. When you’ve got all that in your past your debut album ain’t gonna sound like ‘Busted by, erm, Busted fercrissakes. ‘Hole in my Soul’ is a devastatingly honest album of demolishing riffs and visceral volume. It’s track after track of hard but brittle bangers underpinned by rattling basslines and detonated by blistering guitars. Every lyric is sung clearly. With pride, with power and without preaching. ‘Hole in my Soul’ is an album everyone needs to hear. But, more importantly, this could be the album someone NEEDS to hear. For the Forsaken kill it on this album. They have a habit of killing it live. Thanks to its unflinching and admirable candour ‘Hole in my Soul’ could well save lives too.
