Ever wondered what old school Muse would sound like shoved in the washing machine on a spin cycle? Orchid Symmetry EP’s opening track ‘Like The Sun’. That’s what. It’s a blistering way to fire the first shots, so powerful in places it’s got the capacity to piledrive you back to before Matt Bellamy and co were even born. Sinister ‘Feeding The Wolves’ is an echo chamber of snarling vocals followed by full throttle guitars. Filthy groover ‘Cannonball’ builds and builds relentlessly to a wall-of-sound climax. Scathing punk ‘Lies That They Tell You’ is a pulverising pit-filling mosh-fuelling standout track. Pardon? Oh yeah – closing song ‘Sadistic’. Just a regular Friday night boys, no?
