The Breathing Method
After Everything Else
Self Released
Out January 24
There’s nowhere to hide from lead singer Scott Booth’s vox. Right at the front, track after track, penetrating your head, heart and soul. ‘After Everything Else’ is grungy and raw. No frills, no fancy bleeps or synths or only God knows whats. The Breathing Method don’t need them. Whatever needs saying comes across loud and clear in their lyrics. This band have been around, and they’ve written about the good bits, the bad bits and all the rest of this rich tapestry we call life with care, thought and a hefty dose of punk rock spirit. There’s a 90s vibe, a spot of Therapy? and a bit of IDLES even. Styles vary, but whether it’s haunting acoustic (‘Demons’), sludgy (‘Hope For a Better Day’), agitated rock (‘All of My Dreams’) hard hitting heavy hearted (‘Tragic Confusion’) the perfect addition to alt radio playlists (‘Inside Darkness’) or lyrical and low end punch in the stomach (‘Unbearable’), ‘After Everything Else’ is solid, dependable, solace giving, unashamed and honest rock.
