The Hot One Two
The Reaper
Self Released
Out on August 15
‘Don’t fear the reaper/Fear the wolves outside your door’. That’s a good lyric right there isn’t it? That’s powerful, thought provoking stuff. Sung at pace over a flurry of glam rock riffs and howling heavy metal guitars, and you have classic The Hot One Two with added ‘you’re either with us or against us’ vibe. And if you’re not on side get out the way. Because this band cannot (and should not) be stopped. The urgency in the guitar solos and unrelentless ferocity in the drums stab away, hammering home the idea it’s not death to be feared – we need to be scared of not living life. Yep, you’re a long time dead kids – make the most of what you’ve got now and get this one on loud as the accompanying soundtrack.
