Sludgy sweetness, that vulnerable vox we’re such a sucker for over at GGW HQ, a chorus that sticks the knife in and a proper speed-it-up-give-it-all-you’ve-got climactic ending – ‘Hamburg’ is the riffiest we’re heard Wild Oceans. And we like. You live and you learn lyrics drop pretty much straight away and really get you listening to the tale that’s being told – and this one cuts pretty close to the bone. Wild Oceans have a knack for emotive story-telling, and while ‘Hamburg’ could easily make you weep, the boys have backed it with blistering beats and crunchy yet cinematic guitars that are guaranteed to tear into stages and speakers rather than have us tearing up.
