Gorgeous cascading guitars lead the sweet cinematic alt rock sound that Wild Oceans do so well. And much like a film, there’s a lot going on in these four minutes of spikey yet sincere vocals, twinkling keys and prominent, pumping bassline. It’s a bit of a ‘November Rain’ if you will. Swaying from smooth to choppy quickly and with class, ‘Pieces’ blends ballad-esque emotion with musical ambition and an epic chorus. It makes a lot of noise without being look-at-me loud. And you know how the saying goes… it’s always the quiet ones.
