The Fear

Self Released

Out Now!!!

Ah Wild Oceans. Kings of the jingly jangly guitars, hammering basslines and happy-go-lucky lyrics sung by a vox which has a viciousness behind its vulnerability. ‘The Fear’ skips along merrily with an old school indie vibe and a hint of melancholia that makes this single a must for your playlist. Shall we leave it there? Because that’s an accurate review. But the thing about these boys is they make you work. As a cute lil reviewer and a discerning ole listener. It’s the words - which warrant risking hearing damage to catch them all. That heartfelt hook takes on a mournful edge, the drums become like a quickening pulse, and ‘The Fear’ projects an element of danger. Not in the ‘fucking shit up in the pit’ kinda metal way we’re all familiar with getting stuck right into or running the hell away from. But in a ‘fucking your life up’ way. To hear ‘The Fear’ is to love it. If you wanna feel it you’ll need to turn it up. And if it resonates you’ll probably need a hug.
